About Reitan Convenience Sweden

Reitan Convenience Sweden operates 2,758 convenience stores under the 7-Eleven and Pressbyrån brands in the Nordics. They have been a Google Workspace customer of Devoteam G Cloud since 2011.

The Problem

Reitan Convenience Sweden using Devoteam’s help has transformed into an API-first company. They synced master data from on-premise systems into Google Cloud, which allowed them to decrease error mistakes.

The Goal

Enable Reitan Convenience Sweden to build applications, e.g. their mobile e-commerce app, public-facing portals and intranet, based on this master data API. It was important to switch from a file-based transfer solution to API to avoid system errors and improve BI.

The Solution

Reitan Convenience Sweden trusted Devoteam as partners and migrated their business intelligence platform to Google Cloud, in addition to using IaaS compute services from Google Cloud.

Along with Reitan’s IT management, Devoteam defined the landing zone in the cloud environment according to best practices in Identity, Access Management, Networking, Cost Governance, Logging and Monitoring.

Methodology

As part of the migration, Devoteam provided secured storage services in Google Cloud Storage, Google File Store, managed database servers. They also set up a Shared Virtual Private Network to span IT landscape, managing the network firewall rules, routes and access from a single host project.

Devoteam set up network audit logs and hybrid networking (VPNs) to ensure connection. They also set up an inventory tracking list that monitors and keeps track of their entire cloud landscape and has quarterly reviews to inspect and audit the landscape.

The Result

“We have seen the benefits of moving to the Cloud, which has enabled us to develop functions for our customers faster to let them enjoy their experience at our chain of Pressbyrån and 7-Eleven stores.”
