Moving Orange to a Google-Friendly environment

Orange needs to migrate its infrastructure progressively to the cloud and use its data to improve the performance of the employees. Orange needed to deploy and maintain some Google Workspace developments which had to help in the automatization of day to day tasks like user registration, data processing, and extraction, lead collection… etc. We conducted several developments and Google Workspace integrations in order to increase the productivity.

About Orange

Orange S.A., formerly France Télécom S.A. is a multinational French telecommunications corporation. It has 256 million customers worldwide and employs 95,000 people in France, and 59,000 elsewhere. It is the tenth-largest mobile network operator in the world and the fourth largest in Europe after Vodafone, Telefónica, and VEON.

The Problem

Orange had some old applications which were obsolete and they wanted to fix. They also experienced some problems with the automatisation of day to day tasks.

The Goal

Orange needed to deploy and maintain some Google Workspace, formerly G Suite, developments which had to help in the automatisation of day to day tasks like user registration, data processing, and extraction, lead collection… etc. As Google Cloud partners, we have the knowledge and skills to help Orange with this project.

The Solution

We have developed the scripts using Google Apps Script, JS, HTML, CSS, Angular and Python. Also, we have created some web applications in App Engine and BigQuery, basing all the solutions in Google Cloud.

The employees are happy with the new solutions, as they are more user-friendly and are better integrated with the google environment.

Methodology

Devoteam G Cloud conducted several developments and Google Workspace integrations, most of them were integrations between Google Sheets, Forms and Gmail, and the Orange web page. 

We also developed more complex custom solutions based on Python, BigQuery, and Google Maps with a user-friendly interface. 

The Result

The productivity has significantly increased. The employees are happy with the new solutions, as they are more user-friendly and better integrated with the Google ecosystem.

Following this success with Google Workspace integrations, we have the opportunity to migrate their infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform and create new apps for them. They also want to evolve the migrated applications and develop new business cases.
